Turkish soldier dies as outlawed PKK fire upon police outpost

One Turkish soldier died when outlawed PKK terrorists opened harassment fire on a police outpost in the eastern province of Elazig, the Anatolian Agency reported citing authorities on Saturday.
Elazig Governor Muammer Musmal told the A.A that Cem Havale died when terrorists opened fire on the police outpost at 6:15 p.m. (1515 GMT) on Saturday.
A comprehensive operation has been launched and is continuing in the province, Musmal said.
The PKK, considered a terrorist organization by a majority of the international community including the European Union and the U.S., are responsible for the deaths of more than 30,000 people over the past three decades.
