A subcommittee established by Turkey, Iraq and the United States to crack down on the terrorist PKK organization, in northern Iraq has started to function in the Kurdish city of Arbil, the Turkish Foreign Ministry confirmed yesterday.
“Several arrangements were made to allow a branch of the subcommittee to operate in Arbil in order to effectively work toward the elimination of the PKK,” Burak Özügergin, spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry told reporters in his weekly press conference. Read the rest of this entry »

WHY AN INTERNATIONAL STRUGGLE?
Throughout the ages Terrorism has threatened societies and states, with varying purposes causing death of thousands by exploiting different instruments. Even in the last 5 years, more than 5 thousand people died and 12 thousand people were injured in several terrorist attacks. Even only these numbers evidently show that terrorism has become the primary threat against humanity today.

The Arbil-based joint command center established by Turkey, Iraq and the U.S. to fight against the PKK has launched operations against the terror organization, sources told Hurriyet.
The trilateral command center in the northern Iraqi province of Arbil, which aims at pursuing and destroying the terror organization PKK in the field, has officially launched operations.
Turkey, Iraq and the U.S. decided to form a joint committee in the northern Iraqi city of Arbil to combat the PKK, which launches cross-border attacks on Turkey from bases in the neighboring country, as part of efforts to boost cooperation against the terrorists. Read the rest of this entry »

Seventeen PKK terrorists were killed in clashes that erupted within the terror organization, Anatolian Agency reported on Friday.
The clashes erupted over a command struggle between two leaders of the terror organization PKK, the agency said.

The U.S. Treasury on Wednesday branded the PEJAK, PKK’s Iranian wing, as terrorist organization.
The PEJAK is a front for the terror organization PKK, said Stuart Levey, U.S. Treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence.

Twenty people were injured in a clash between terror organization PKK supporters and members of an Islamist association in a southern province of Turkey, Dogan News Agency reported on Monday.
The clashes began late on Sunday after PKK supporters attacked the building of the Islamist association with stones and Molotov cocktails in the Adana province, the agency said.
