Allied countries need to unite and develop a common front in order to succeed in the fight against terrorism says Chief of Staff Gen. İlker Başbuğ. He also says the military is determined to wipe out the PKK and that NATO’s success in Afghanistan is vital to the future of the alliance.

The Iraqi vice president said on Thursday that the terrorist organization PKK would leave his country if it does not lay down arms.
Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi said that the terrorist organization PKK would leave Iraq if it does not lay down arms.

A Turkish village guard was killed when a landmine exploded in the southeastern province of Sirnak, Dogan News Agency reported on Sunday.
Two other village guards were injured when the landmine planted by PKK terrorists exploded in the Uludere district of the Sirnak province, the agency said.
In a separate incident, a member of the PKK surrendered to security forces in the Silopi distrcit of Sirnak late on Saturday, Dogan News Agency reported. Read the rest of this entry »
