Two soldiers were killed and two were wounded in a terrorist attack waged in Semdinli town of the southeastern province of Hakkari on Wednesday.

PKK terrorists opened fire on Turkish security teams patrolling in a mountainous area of Semdinli town, killing one soldier and injuring three others in initial fire.

The wounded soldiers were immediately hospitalized, however, one of them lost his life at the military hospital, officials said.

After the attack, a wide-scale operation was launched in the region.
