Police said Thursday they had arrested 34 suspected Kurdish terrorists accused over five bomb attacks in Turkey’s biggest city Istanbul.

The suspects were members of the separatist terrorist organization called Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), Istanbul police said in a written statement. They were believed to have planted bombs in front of two supermarkets, an office, a medical clinic and a post office on June 29 and July 15, the statement added.

The bombings had caused no casualties, according to media reports. The suspects were arrested after a demonstration on Sunday during which they injured three members of the security forces “with sticks, stones and explosives,” it added. Read the rest of this entry »

A road-side land-mine went off in southeastern Turkey, injuring six troops.

The mine which was planted by members of the PKK terrorist organization detonated while a military vehicle was passing, in Lice town of Diyarbakir. Six troops were injured in the blast. They were rushed to a military hospital. Read the rest of this entry »

A bomb blast blamed on separatist Kurdish terrorists in eastern Turkey left four Turkish soldiers wounded, reported Saturday.

The bomb, planted by rebels from the terrorist group Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), exploded when a military vehicle carrying soldiers to an army station passed over it near the town of Dogubayazit in Agri province, the report said. Separatist Kurdish rebels attacked a Turkish military unit near the Iraqi border, killing six soldiers in one of their bloodiest assaults this year, officials said Tuesday.

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants, armed with rockets and assault rifles, launched the attack overnight, near the border town of Cukurca, targeting a military unit stationed there as reinforcement after a significant escalation of rebel violence since June, military sources said.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that six soldiers were killed and 15 wounded in the ensuing clashes, adding that a PKK rebel was shot dead by security forces. Read the rest of this entry »

Mine exploded in the eastern province of Van on Thursday, killing one soldier.

Mine, earlier planted on the rural area in Van’s Gurpinar town by the terrorist organization PKK, went off when security forces were tracking down terrorists.

Turkish military killed a total of 46 terrorists during operations over the past one month in southeast part of the country.

The number of terrorists killed in operations in last six months reached 187, military sources said. The terrorist organization has suffered heavy losses in recent months as Turkish military started using Cobra helicopters and Heron unmanned aerial vehicles after rising casual terrorist attacks followed by a recent order –from Mounth Qandil in the north of Iraq where terrorist heads are located– to escalate attacks. Terrorists killed one soldier and wounded three others, including a lieutenant, in an attack on a commando team in Gercus town of south-east province of Batman on Tuesday night, the Governor’s Office in Batman said on Wednesday.

PKK terrorists attacked a military outpost in southeastern province of Hakkari killing three soldiers and injuring three others.

Terrorists opened fire on a military outpost with long range weapons in Semdinli town of Hakkari early on Tuesday. Three soldiers were killed while three others were wounded.

Kurdish terrorists waging a 26-year insurgency were suspected of being behind a blast in southeastern Turkey that hit a pipeline carrying oil from Iraq, a local security source said Sunday.

The blast late Saturday ripped through a section of the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline near Midyat, in Mardin province, sparking a fire, the source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said. The blaze was put out early Sunday.

Militants from the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) were believed to have bombed the pipeline, and a security operation was underway in the area, added the source. There was no immediate claim of responsibility from the PKK. Read the rest of this entry »

Syria has detained 400 people in operations against the terrorist organization PKK.

Syrian security forces have staged operations against the terrorist organization PKK in Aleppo, Kamishli, Afrin, Al Hasaka and Al Raqqa cities, and detained 400 people on charges of being a member of the terrorist organization. The detainees are also interrogated on charges of collecting unjust money, attempting to divide Syria and establish a separate state, and dissolve Kurds living in Syria ethnically and religiously.

Also, Syria decided to implement harsh sanctions against families of Kurdish descend who provide logistical support to the terrorist organization PKK.
