A bomb explosion outside a military housing complex wounded two civilians in Turkey’s southeastern Diyarbakır province Thursday night, an official said, according to the Associated Press.
Diyarbakır Gov. Mustafa Toprak said Friday the injured were in stable condition after the overnight attack.

Eight people, including one police officer, were injured when a bomb exploded in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district, the Anatolia news agency reported Thursday.
The blast was caused by a medium-strength bomb that was mounted on an electric bicycle near a bus stop in Etiler neighborhood, Istanbul Police Chief Hüseyin Çapkın said.

Security forces neutralized 12 terrorists during operations conducted in the southeastern Turkey.
General Staff’s web-site stated on Saturday that security forces neutralized 12 terrorists, who were trying to sneak into Turkey along Iraqi border, during two separate operations staged in Uludere town of the southeastern province of Sirnak.

Separatist Kurdish rebels claimed responsibility Friday for an armed attack on an election convoy of Turkey’s ruling party that killed one policeman, an agency close to the militants reported.
Wednesday’s attack in northern Turkey “was carried out by our guerrillas as a retaliation to police terror against the (Kurdish) people,” the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) said in a statement carried by the Firat news agency.

At least seven people, among them four policemen, were injured in southeast Turkey on Wednesday as Kurds held violent demonstrations at the funeral of militants killed by the army.

A top Turkish official expressed disappointment Tuesday with the level of international cooperation Turkey has received in its own fight against terrorism, as the U.S. ambassador pledged his country’s full support.
